Weekend Sports Betting Guide – 2/3/4 March 2018

AFLW Round 5

Melbourne (W) v Brisbane (W)

Friday 02/03/2018 – 7:05pm
Odds: Melbourne $1.67, Brisbane $2.21
The round kicks off at Casey Fields as two teams vying for a Grand Final spot clash. The Lions are currently second and have a 3-1 record. They’ve won in a row over the Blues and Dockers. While for the Dees, they’ve lost two straight and were smashed by the Magpies last round. In this matchup, the Lions boast the best defence in AFLW and they’ll look to stop the Demons 2nd ranked attack. Brisbane also beat the Demons last season at this venue and they have already won 2 of 2 on the road this season. So the line of 3.5 points is the best bet.
Best bet: Brisbane +3.5 $1.90

Fremantle (W) v GWS (W)

Saturday 03/03/2018 – 5:05pm
Odds: Fremantle $1.66, GWS $2.23
The Dockers are 2-2 and the Giants are 1-2-1 so the winning team will still be a chance at making the Grand Final. These two sides played in the first ever AFLW draw last season so we’re expecting a similar close one. Both teams are almost identical in for and against as well. They’ve both conceded 129 points and the Giants have scored 1 extra point in attack. So in the end, the safe bet is either team winning this by under 15.5 points. Also don’t rule out the draw at $31.
Best bet: Either team under 15.5 points $1.62

Adelaide (W) v Carlton (W)

Saturday 03/03/2018 – 7:10pm
Odds: Adelaide $1.43, Carlton $2.86
The Blues will be hurting after they were blown off the park against the Bulldogs last week. They were down 51-0 during the third quarter and couldn’t stop the Bulldogs scoring options. But they get Tayla Harris back this week and she’ll need to help the Blues find scoring options. They rank dead last in AFLW for points scored. Meanwhile, Adelaide played in a draw last week and sit second last on the ladder. This is a much win for both sides so once again. The Blues at the line looks like the best value. They lost by 3 against the Crows last year and surely can’t lose by a large margin again.
Best bet: Blues +9.5 $1.90

Collingwood (W) v Western Bulldogs (W)

Sunday 04/03/2018 – 2:35pm
Odds: Bulldogs $1.39, Collingwood $3.01
The last match of the round should be a good one between the Bulldogs and Magpies. The Bulldogs are sitting at the top of the ladder after 3 wins and a loss. They thrashed the Blues last week and now rank 1st in AFLW for points scored. They also rank 2nd for points allowed so this side will likely make the Grand Final. For the Magpies, they upset the Demons for their first victory of the season. They haven’t been a bad team this season with a few close losses. So they’ll be confident of another upset after last week. In the end, this should be a close contest between two sides that can score freely. They also played in a close one last season so we’ll back either team to win by under 15.5 points.
Best bet: Either team under 15.5 points $1.80

NBL – Finals

Melbourne United v New Zealand Breakers

Saturday 03/03/2018 – 6:37pm
Odds: United $1.29, Breakers $3.66
The first semi-final will be played at Hisense Arena between United and the Breakers. Melbourne is 11-3 at home this season and they’ll be looking to start the finals the same way. They’ve also beaten the Breakers in the last two contests. In NZ, they smashed them 100-82 and beat them at home 89-83. The Breakers are coming into this series out of form after four straight losses. Which includes two against Melbourne and a bad loss to the Kings. They are just 6-8 on the road this season and this looks like a tough first up matchup. They did get within 6 points in the last meeting here so Melbourne winning by 1-10 is good value at $2.70
Best bet: United 1-10 $2.70

Adelaide 36ers v Perth Wildcats

Saturday 03/03/2018 – 8:37pm
Odds: 36ers $1.50, Wildcats $2.59
Adelaide hosts the second semi-final against the Wildcats this Saturday night. The 36ers finished the season with three straight wins, which included a 94-82 win at home against the Wildcats. They went 10-4 at home this season and they’re 11-3 as a favourite. They look to have the Wildcats covered on offence as they average 94.8 points per game compared to Perth at 85.3. The Wildcats are 0-4 against the 36ers in Adelaide and they went 7-7 on the road this season. So this looks like a tough first up matchup and we’ll back the 36ers to get the job done at home by 4.5 points.
Best bet: 36ers -4.5 $1.94

Rugby Union – Super Rugby Round 3

Reds v Brumbies

Friday 02/03/2018 – 8pm
Odds: Brumbies $1.50, Reds $2.60
Super Rugby action kicks off in Australia at Suncorp with the Reds hosting the Brumbies. The Reds had a terrible start to the season as the Rebels thrashed them in Melbourne. So they’ll be looking to win this one at home to get their season started. The Brumbies travelled to Japan and walked away with a tough 7 point victory. They struggled in the first half but ran over the Sunwolves in the second half. They have a good record against the Reds and that should continue here. They are a much better side in defence and that will likely be the main difference. So we’ll be taking the Brumbies to cover the line.
Best bet: Brumbies -4.5 $1.90

Soccer – EPL

Arsenal v Man City

Friday 02/03/2018 – 6:45am
Odds: Man City $1.72, Arsenal $4.50
The EPL action kicks off on Friday morning with a clash between Arsenal and Man City. They met last week in the League Cup and Man City thrashed them 3-0. So it’s hard to see a different result here. Man City has dominated the EPL this season with a 23-3-1 record. They are 13 points ahead of the competition and should easily win the league in 2018. They also have a 3-1-0 record against Arsenal in the last 4 EPL meetings. Arsenal is a good home side with a 10-2-1 record. But they will struggle to contain City’s powerful attack. City is also 10-2-1 on the road and this looks like another comfortable victory.
Best bet: Man City WIN $1.72
