Weekend Sports Betting Guide – 9/10/11 February 2018

AFLW Round 2

GWS (W) v Carlton (W)

Friday 09/02/2018 – 7:35pm
Odds: Carlton $1.50, GWS $2.60
In the first match of Round 2, the Blues will look to go 2-0 on the season. They beat the Magpies by 8 points in Round 1 and their new recruits played an important role. But the Giants won’t be a pushover. They came within a goal of beating the Demons in Melbourne and have the attack to trouble the Blues. Last season, were the worst attacking team but they have regained some talented players. So they can keep close once again and cover the 6.5 point line.
Best bet: Giants +6.5 $1.90

Melbourne (W) v Adelaide (W)

Saturday 10/02/2018 – 5:35pm
Odds: Melbourne $1.52, Adelaide $2.55
The early Saturday match should be another close encounter between the Demons and Crows. However, Erin Phillips is out again for the Crows and that’s a big blow. They missed her last week as they lost against Brisbane by 2 goals. Melbourne on the other hand were at their attacking best, scoring 7 goals in a 45-39 victory. They beat the Crows last year with Phillips in the lineup so this contest should be an easier win for Melbourne.
Best bet: Demons -6.5 $1.90

Fremantle (W) v Collingwood (W)

Saturday 10/02/2018 – 7:10pm
Odds: Collingwood $1.79, Fremantle $2.03
The Dockers open the new Optus Stadium with a clash against the Magpies on Saturday night. It’s already a sellout which is a huge positive for AFLW. These two sides struggled in Round 1 so this will likely be a close match. They played last season and the Magpies just won by a point. Judging by last week, the Dockers are going to struggle to score points and the Magpies did well to keep Carlton to 22 points. So we’ll take the Magpies to win this and cover the short line.
Best bet: Magpies -1.5 $1.90

Brisbane (W) v Western Bulldogs (W)

Sunday 11/02/2018 – 3:35pm
Odds: Brisbane $1.67, Bulldogs $2.22
The last match of the round, this will likely be a great contest between the Lions and Bulldogs. They both won in Round 1, so this is an important match for the winning side to stay within the top two. The Lions have a great defence which kept the Crows to just 19 points last round. But the Bulldogs also showed their defensive skill, keeping the Dockers scoreless until half time. They also have Katie Brennan back and she’ll be hard to stop up forward. So in a match that could go either way, the Bulldogs are the value bet at the line.
Best bet: Bulldogs +3.5 $1.90

Cricket – Twenty20

Australia vs England

Saturday 10/02/2018 – 7:21pm
Odds: Australia $1.67, England $2.22
On Saturday night, England’s tour of Australia ends at the MCG. They face off in another T20 after a close encounter in Hobart. Australia chased down the total with Glenn Maxwell scoring an impressive century. England would have been disappointed with their batting collapse, so they’ll look to improve in Melbourne.

Top runscorer: Australia

Glenn Maxwell is in fantastic form at the moment and it’s hard to back against him for top scorer. He hasn’t been dismissed in this series and has led Australia home in both matches. In his last 10 innings, he has scored under 28 runs just once. So he’s a great value bet at $5.

Best bet: G.Maxwell $5

Top runscorer: England

The last time Jason Roy played at the MCG, he scored 180 runs and will start as the favourite here once again. However, his form since is a concern. He hasn’t reached 50 and scored 9 in the first T20I. Dawid Malan looks to be the best bet after his half-century in Hobart. He has scored 50s in both of his T20I matches and should continue his form at the MCG.

Best bet: D.Malan $4.50

Prediction

Australia’s T20 squad is on fire at the moment and they seem to have found a winning formula. They bat down to 8 and have a range of aggressive batsman to chase down any target. The fact the David Warner hasn’t fired yet is also a cause of concern for England. The Australian bowlers also dominated the English middle order and that should be the key again. Glenn Maxwell even chipped in with 3 quick wickets during the middle stages. But this will likely be another close contest as England have played in coloured clothing this Summer. But we can’t back against Australia in their last home match of the Summer.
Best bet: Australia WIN $1.67

NBL

Melbourne United v New Zealand Breakers

Friday 09/02/2018 – 7:40pm
Odds: United $1.36, Breakers $2.87
The top of the ladder clash is set for Friday Night as United host the Breakers in Melbourne. United are coming into this clash with four straight wins and they’re 18-7 at home this season. The Breakers are also in form with two straight wins. Looking at the head to head, the Breakers at the line looks like the best bet. They have a 26-6 record against United since 2010. In Melbourne, they also have a 4-1 record against them. They’re also 7-3 ATS at Hisense Arena and 22-6 overall since 2011 against Melbourne. So take the Breakers at +5.5 and the win bet is also worth a play for value.
Best bet: Breakers +5.5 $1.87

Soccer – EPL

Tottenham v Arsenal

Saturday 10/02/2018 – 11:30pm
Odds: Tottenham 2.00 Draw 3.75 Arsenal 3.60
This is big clash between 5th (Tottenham) and 6th (Arsenal) on the table this Saturday night. Tottenham will start as the favourite due their home record this season. In 13 matches, they’ve lost just once at home and have won 8 of 13. Arsenal struggle on the round with a 3-4-6 record. But they’re coming off a 5-1 win over Everton and beat Tottenham 2-0 at home in the last meeting. So this should be a close one. Tottenham are better defensively as they allow just 0.9 goals per match this season. So they’ll be able to contain Arsenal in attack. As a home favourite since 2013, Tottenham have an impressive 52-16-11 record. They’ve enjoyed playing at Wembley Stadium this season and the best value bet is the Spurs to win this contest.
Best bet: Tottenham WIN (2.00)
