Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos

September 8, 2017 @ Allianz Stadium
Odds: Roosters $1.62, Broncos $2.35

Betting preview of the Roosters versus the Broncos at Allianz Stadium on Friday.

Roosters Form:

The Roosters host the Broncos in the first final and they’ve won three straight. However, their last four matches have been decided by under 6 points and this will likely be another.

Last 5 Matches:
WON by 4 – Roosters 20, Titans 16 – Round 26, 2017
WON by 2 – Roosters 16, Sharks 14 – Round 25, 2017
WON by 4 – Roosters 22, Tigers 18 – Round 24, 2017
LOST by 3 – Roosters 13, Storm 16 – Round 23, 2017
LOST by 18 – Roosters 18, Sea Eagles 36 – Round 22, 2017

Broncos Form:

Brisbane come into the finals with a 4-1 record in their last 5 matches. They overcame a losing streak last week as they finally beat the Cowboys in North Queensland. They have a 7-5 record on the road this season, but they don’t have a great record at SFS.

Last 5 Matches:
WON by 10 – Broncos 20, Cowboys 10 – Round 26, 2017
LOST by 18 – Broncos 34, Eels 52 – Round 25, 2017
WON by 12 – Broncos 24, Dragons 12 – Round 24, 2017
WON by 22 – Broncos 32, Sharks 10 – Round 23, 2017
WON by 54 – Broncos 54, Titans 0 – Round 22, 2017

Head to Head (Since 2010) – Roosters: 7-6

The Roosters defeated the Broncos in June by 2 points at this venue. They’ve also won the last four at SFS against the Broncos.

Last 2 Meetings:

Roosters won by 2 points – Round 13, 2017 – Roosters 18 d Broncos 16 (34 total points)
Broncos won by 24 points – Round 6, 2017 – Broncos 32 d Roosters 8 (40 total points)

Big Win Little Win

Two of last four meetings at SFS have resulted in a 2 point margin so the 1-12 margin is the best bet here. The Roosters are 4-0 at SFS against the Broncos and they would be the best chance at 1-12.
Best bet: Roosters 1-12 ($2.95)

Prediction:

The Roosters have the wood over the Broncos in Sydney and we’re expecting that to continue.
Roosters -4.0 ($1.90)

Melbourne Storm vs Parramatta Eels

September 9, 2017 @ AAMI Park
Odds: Storm $1.22, Eels $4.25

Betting preview of the Storm versus the Eels at AAMI Park on Saturday.

Storm Form:

Melbourne host the Eels in the second final and the Storm are in red-hot form. They’ve won their last three matches by an average of 38 points. They also haven’t lost since Round 18, which was against the Eels. However, they didn’t have Origin players in that match. This season the Storm went 9-3 at home.

Last 5 Matches:
WON by 26 – Storm 32, Raiders 6 – Round 26, 2017
WON by 58 – Storm 64, Rabbitohs 6 – Round 25, 2017
WON by 32 – Storm 44, Knights 12 – Round 24, 2017
WON by 3 – Storm 16, Roosters 13 – Round 23, 2017
WON by 18 – Storm 26, Cowboys 8 – Round 22, 2017

Eels Form:

The Eels face the toughest task in Week 1 of the NRL finals as they travel to Melbourne. But they’ve won three straight matches and they’ll be looking for an upset. They also have a decent record in Melbourne and they have a 8-4 record in away matches this season.

Last 5 Matches:
WON by 6 – Eels 22, Rabbitohs 16 – Round 26, 2017
WON by 18 – Eels 52, Broncos 34 – Round 25, 2017
WON by 22 – Eels 30, Titans 8 – Round 24, 2017
LOST by 19 – Eels 10, Knights 29 – Round 23, 2017
WON by 16 – Eels 20, Bulldogs 4 – Round 22, 2017

Head to Head (Since 2010) – Storm: 6-4

As we mentioned, the Eels won the last meeting but that was in Origin Week. They also won at AAMI Park in 2015, but again the Storm were missing Origin stars.

Last 2 Meetings:

Eels won by 16 points – Round 18, 2017 – Eels 22 d Storm 6 (28 total points)
Storm won by 12 points – Round 11, 2016 – Storm 18 d Eels 6 (24 total points)

Big Win Little Win

The Storm have an average winning margin of 16 points this season but this is a final. In Round 23 against the Roosters, the margin was just 3 points and we would expect another close match.
Best bet: Storm 1-12 ($3.20)

Prediction:

We’re backing the Storm to win as they have a great record at home this season. But the Eels should be able to keep this margin below 12 points.
Eels +12.0 ($1.92)

Manly Sea Eagles vs Penrith Panthers

September 9, 2017 @ Allianz Stadium
Odds: Sea Eagles $1.60, Panthers $2.40

Betting preview of the Sea Eagles versus the Panthers at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Sea Eagles Form:

The Sea Eagles beat the Panthers last week and they face the same side in the finals. They led 28-0 at one stage and they’ll look for the same result this week. At SFS, the Sea Eagles have won four in a row and scored 46 points in their last match (against Rabbitohs).

Last 5 Matches:
WON by 16 – Sea Eagles 28, Panthers 12 – Round 26, 2017
WON by 1 – Sea Eagles 22, Warriors 21 – Round 25, 2017
LOST by 14 – Sea Eagles 16, Bulldogs 30 – Round 24, 2017
LOST by 4 – Sea Eagles 26, Tigers 30 – Round 23, 2017
WON by 18 – Sea Eagles 36, Roosters 18 – Round 22, 2017

Panthers Form:

Penrith were terrible last week and they’ve lost two in a row before the finals. The loss against the Sea Eagles ended a five match winning streak for the Panthers against them as well. But they have won two in a row at this venue and beat the Bulldogs in the finals last year.

Last 5 Matches:
LOST by 16 – Panthers 12, Sea Eagles 28 – Round 26, 2017
LOST by 2 – Panthers 14, Dragons 16 – Round 25, 2017
WON by 4 – Panthers 26, Raiders 22 – Round 24, 2017
WON by 8 – Panthers 24, Cowboys 16 – Round 23, 2017
WON by 14 – Panthers 28, Tigers 14 – Round 22, 2017

Head to Head (Since 2010) – Panthers: 8-5

The Panthers lead the H2H 8-5 since 2010 but the Sea Eagles just thrashed them last week.

Last 2 Meetings:

Sea Eagles won by 16 points – Round 26, 2017 – Sea Eagles 28 d Panthers 12 (40 total points)
Panthers won by 8 points – Round 18, 2017 – Panthers 16 d Sea Eagles 8 (24 total points)

Big Win Little Win

In 8 of the last 13 meetings, the 1-12 has saluted. The neutral venue will also even up this contest and the 1-12 should happen again. The Sea Eagles are the best bet here.
Best bet: Sea Eagles 1-12 ($3.00)

Prediction:

After last week, it’s hard to see the Panthers improving for a victory. But the neutral venue helps and we think Manly will win by 1-2 tries this week.
Sea Eagles -4.5 ($1.92)

Cronulla Sharks vs North Queensland Cowboys

September 10, 2017 @ Allianz Stadium
Odds: Sharks $1.36, Cowboys $3.25

Betting preview of the Sharks versus the Cowboys at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.

Sharks Form:

Cronulla head into the finals with two wins from their last three. They also just beat the Cowboys by 10 points in North Queensland in Round 24.

Last 5 Matches:
WON by 8 – Sharks 26, Knights 18 – Round 26, 2017
LOST by 2 – Sharks 14, Roosters 16 – Round 25, 2017
WON by 10 – Sharks 26, Cowboys 16 – Round 24, 2017
LOST by 22 – Sharks 10, Broncos 32 – Round 23, 2017
LOST by 18 – Sharks 12, Raiders 30 – Round 22, 2017

Cowboys Form:

The Cowboys were lucky to make finals as the Dragons lost on Sunday. They’ve lost 4 of the last 5 and they travel to Sydney. They’ve only won once in 8 matches at SFS since 2010.

Last 5 Matches:
LOST by 10 – Cowboys 10, Broncos 20 – Round 26, 2017
WON by 8 – Cowboys 22, Tigers 14 – Round 25, 2017
LOST by 10 – Cowboys 16, Sharks 26 – Round 24, 2017
LOST by 8 – Cowboys 16, Panthers 24 – Round 23, 2017
LOST by 18 – Cowboys 8, Storm 26 – Round 22, 2017

Head to Head (Since 2010) – Tied: 9-9

Although, the head to head is 9-9, the Sharks have won the last four meetings. They’ve also won the last two at the venue in 2013 and 2016 (both finals).

Last 2 Meetings:

Sharks won by 10 points – Round 24, 2017 – Sharks 26 d Cowboys 16 (42 total points)
Sharks won by 4 points – Round 11, 2017 – Sharks 18 d Cowboys 14 (32 total points)

Big Win Little Win

The Sharks beat the Cowboys in last year’s final series by 12 points at this venue. This season they have an average winning margin of 11 points. The Sharks rarely thrash sides and we’re expecting them to win by 1-12 points.
Best bet: Sharks 1-12 ($3.05)

Prediction:

The Cowboys should find it tough in this matchup, especially without Thurston. So we’re tipping the Sharks to end the Cowboys season in Sydney.
Sharks -8.0 ($1.94)
